What will happen if the Generational Endgame (GEG) provision is not implemented?

The country will face the economic burden in treating all the diseases caused by smoking. The cost for treating ONLY THREE of the diseases caused by conventional cigarettes use (e.g.: lung cancer, heart attack and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) amounting to RM8.77 billion by 2030. This financial burden is also shared by the cost to treat diseases caused by the use of electronic cigarettes or vaping such as E-Cigarettes or Vaping Product Use Associated Lung Injury or EVALI with projected treatment costs of RM 369.00 million by the year 2030.
